The Koch Fertilizer Beatrice plant, along with Flint Hills Resources (FHR) and Molex, sponsored Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day at the Nebraska Innovation Campus in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Volunteers — including Kim Cammack, KF Beatrice safety leader; Megan Williams FHR environmental, health and safety director; and Sherevan Alhamy, Molex mold design engineer — spent a day teaching young girls about Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) and encouraged careers in science and engineering through hands-on activities.
“Our goal is to spark kids’ imaginations and help them aspire to study in STEM fields,” the group said. “We believe bringing more attention to STEM learning can encourage kids to pursue careers in science and engineering.”
