Koch Fertilizer is proud to announce three nitrogen plants — Beatrice, Nebraska; Enid, Oklahoma; and Fort Dodge, Iowa — have earned 2021 ENERGY STAR® certification from the U.S. EPA for superior energy performance.

ENERGY STAR certification recognizes plants performing in the top 25 percent of similar nitrogen fertilizer manufacturing facilities nationwide for energy efficiency and meeting strict energy efficiency performance levels set by the EPA. This is Beatrice’s third, Enid’s second and Fort Dodge’s first year to earn certification.

“Every day, across our sites, we strive to be excellent stewards and continually improve our plant operations to reduce energy consumption and respect the environment,” said Pascal Van Teeffelen, executive VP of operations and compliance for Koch Ag & Energy Solutions Operations Management. “We are proud of our employees who continue to identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency and adopt innovative technologies to manage our resources responsibly.

This certification builds on Koch Industries commitment to responsible corporate stewardship. In 2017 and 2021 Koch Fertilizer, as a subsidiary of Koch Industries, earned the ENERGY STAR® Partner of the Year Award, in recognition of its superior energy management practices.
