Koch Fertilizer earned the 2020 Union Pacific Pinnacle Award and the Kansas City Southern Hazardous Material Shipper Safety Award for rail shipments.
“The attention to detail when maintaining, loading and securing rail shipments is critical to our reputation as a supplier and member of the community,” said Kevin Flahive, director rail transportation with KBX Rail. “These awards are a testament to our team’s commitment to operate safely every day, and I commend them on this great accomplishment.”
These annual awards recognize customers who implement release prevention protocols and corrective action plans and who have zero non-accidental releases of regulated hazardous materials shipments with a qualifying minimum volume.
“Union Pacific is committed to safely moving the chemical shipments that support our customers’ supply chains,” said Jacque Bendon, Union Pacific vice president - Industrial. “We applaud this year’s Pinnacle Award winners for their commitment to eliminating rail car chemical releases and thank them for their continued collaboration to safely move chemical products through the communities where we live and work.”
This is Koch Fertilizer’s eighth Union Pacific Pinnacle Award and sixth Kansas City Southern Hazardous Material Shipper Safety Award.
